Mgr. Kateryna Yakovenko, PhD. obtained her doctoral degree at the department of political science at Comenius University in Bratislava. Her research is focused on the issues of legitimacy and national identity in connection to democracy and democratic consolidation. The relations between Ukraine, Russia and the European Union within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy are her main topics of research. Dr. Yakovenko is also focusing on energy issues in Ukraine (3 years as a post-doc investigator of the project ENERGIES). Currently, she is a member of the project GLocalEAst.
